FIRST GIRAFFE ARRIVES!
Nov 01, 2009 - Nov 20, 2009 (All Day Event) ONE GIRAFFE COMPLETES JOURNEY TO T-TOWN The trailer containing Samburu’s newest friend maneuvered carefully into the exhibit. With a bit of encouragement, the caramel-colored beauty showed her face to Tulsa Zoo employees for the first time. A bit later, she got her first glimpse of “Sam” in the barn. The now-unnamed California girl now has access to the giraffe exhibit yard for zoo guests to see. And you can also help the Tulsa Zoo name these two new additions – click here for details on how to place your vote! The Tulsa Zoo expects the second female giraffe from The Wilds in Ohio to arrive within the next week. But the Tulsa Zoo still needs your help to bridge the gap for “Operation Roadtrip: Giraffes”, and the solution is delicious! The Tulsa Zoo has joined with Burger King and Taco Bueno in an unprecedented partnership to help with the costs of bringing two giraffes to Tulsa. For a donation of just $1, you will receive a limited-edition coupon book with nearly $20 worth of delicious food, drinks and fun FREE from Burger King, Taco Bueno and the Tulsa Zoo! These coupon books are available NOW at all area Burger King and Taco Bueno locations and at your Tulsa Zoo. Not only will your wallet and taste buds enjoy the treat, but your donation will help your Tulsa Zoo. And what a great alternative to candy for stuffing those trick-or-treat bags this year!
